EV Charger Requirements

For those with dedicated off-street parking, such as a driveway or garage, installing an EV charger is the perfect solution. UK building owners must adhere to certain technical requirements when doing so – electrical outlets cannot exceed 0.2 cubic metres in size and upstands for charging points are permitted, provided they do not surpass 1.6m and there’s only one per allocated parking space.

 

For EV charge points to be able to reach their maximum output, an adequate electrical supply must be available. 7.4kW chargers are the most widespread, although 3kW are more common in domestic installation.
